Record a web workflow once, then guide anyone through it live.

FlowSherpa turns a web workflow you already know into a live, step-by-step guide for anyone who needs to follow it. Record the workflow once — clicks, typing, navigation and all — and FlowSherpa writes each step as you perform it. Save, and you get a public link anyone can open without an account.
Opening the link starts a walkthrough on the real website: each step's target is highlighted right where it sits on the page, and the guide advances only when the follower performs the actual action — the correct click, the finished typing, the scroll that brings the next step into view. Multi-page flows follow them from page to page.
Steps are text descriptions plus element fingerprints, not screenshots: nothing is captured as an image, password and payment fields are redacted at record time, and the recording stays on your device until you click Save. The trade-offs follow from that choice. Browser-internal pages such as chrome:// cannot be recorded, a redesigned page can lose a step's target until you re-pick it, and a share link is public — anyone with it can follow the flow. If you need screenshot documentation or video instead, the other tools in this collection cover those jobs.
The capabilities FlowSherpa ships with today, as implemented — not a roadmap.
Clicks, typing, page navigation, slider drags and file picks become steps while you work. Pause anytime, undo the last step, or mark a hover-only interaction.
Rewrite any step's wording, reorder steps, insert manual steps (a note, a scroll, an extra click), re-pick a step's target element on the live page, or fix a step group's URL.
Saving publishes a public share link. Viewers need no account; anyone without the extension is guided to install it, and the flow resumes automatically afterwards.

Steps are text descriptions plus element fingerprints. Nothing is captured, uploaded or stored as an image — and password and payment fields are redacted automatically at record time.
Recordings stay on your device as drafts. Only clicking Save uploads the step list; deleting a share removes it from the server immediately, and unfinished uploads are swept within 24 hours.
Common situations this extension handles well, and what people typically use it for.
Record the expense report, booking or admin flow once. From then on, whoever has to do it gets a link and is walked through the actual system.
Instead of writing out the same instructions again, send a link that walks the person through it on the real site — they do it, they learn it.
Multi-page flows follow the newcomer from page to page. They learn the tool by completing the real workflow, not by reading a document about it.
Walk a client through a dashboard or booking portal step by step, on the pages they will actually use, without a screen-share call.
From install to first result in four steps.
Install FlowSherpa from the Chrome Web Store, open the page the workflow starts on, and start recording. Grant the one-time permission for the sites this flow uses.
Click, type and navigate — FlowSherpa writes each step as you go. Pause anytime, undo the last step, or mark a hover-only interaction as a step.
Rewrite step wording, reorder or insert steps, re-pick a target that pointed at the wrong control, and fix a step group's page URL.
Saving uploads the step list and creates a public link. Followers open it, install the extension if prompted, and are walked through the real pages.
An honest look at where this tool fits — and where other options fit better.

Our take: Scribe and Tango turn a workflow into rich, screenshot-based documentation for teams. FlowSherpa trades the screenshots for something narrower: a follower who completes the real workflow, live, one action at a time. If your reader needs to read, those tools fit better; if they need to do, this one does.
What this extension does not do, and the cases where results may be imperfect. Stated plainly so you can decide before installing.
Questions people ask before and after installing.
No. A step is a text description plus an element fingerprint — the information used to re-locate the control on the page later. No screenshots are captured, uploaded or stored, and there is no video recording.
Recordings stay on your device while you edit. Only when you click Save does the step list — page URLs and titles, step text, element fingerprints — go to our backend to create the share link. Live walkthroughs send anonymous, aggregate events only (no URLs, no page content), and the backend keeps visitors' IP addresses only as rate-limit counters, deleted within 48 hours.
Yes — the walkthrough runs inside the extension. The share page detects this and guides visitors to the Chrome Web Store; once installed, the flow picks up automatically, right where they left off.
In the review screen you can re-pick the target element on the live page, rewrite the step's wording, reorder steps, or insert manual steps before sharing.
FlowSherpa is a hands-on guide by design: each step completes when the follower performs the real action on the page. There is no video to watch, because the point is that they end up having done it themselves.
Yes — free to install from the Chrome Web Store. No account is required to record a flow or to follow a shared one.
