Privacy Policy

This website is a set of static pages. It has no accounts, no backend and no analytics, and it sets no cookies of its own. Our capture extensions process your captures and recordings locally in your browser and never upload them anywhere. FlowSherpa, our step-guide extension, uploads a recorded step list only when you click Save to publish a share link — never before, never silently. The rest of this page states the details, per tool, so you can check rather than take our word for it.

• No accounts. Nothing on this site requires, or even offers, sign-up.
• No forms, no submissions. There is nowhere on this site to enter personal data.
• No analytics or advertising scripts. The pages ship as plain HTML, CSS and a small amount of JavaScript for interface elements (the homepage carousel and counters).
• No cookies set by us. We do not use cookies for tracking or preferences.
• Server logs. As with any website, the hosting provider may keep standard request logs (IP address, browser string, requested page) for security and operations. We do not use these to profile visitors.

Every extension we publish follows the same rule: your data stays on your machine unless you choose to publish or share it yourself. For the capture tools that means no server ever receives your screenshots, recordings or annotations. FlowSherpa is the one tool with an explicit publish step — the step list is uploaded only when you click Save to create a share link, and deleting the share deletes it from the server immediately. Specifically:

• Poindeo records screen, tab or window video with cursor tracking, mixes in microphone audio when you enable it, and encodes the result to MP4 in your browser. Recordings are stored in the browser's local storage (OPFS / IndexedDB) and downloaded to your device on export. Poindeo offers an optional subscription: if you purchase one, your account and billing details are handled by the poindeo.com service under its own terms — the recordings themselves still never leave your device.
• Web Video Recorder captures the audio and video of the tab you choose and converts it to MP4 or GIF locally, using a WebAssembly build of ffmpeg that runs inside your browser. Finished files download to your device; nothing is transmitted.
• Screenshot Annotation captures and annotates entirely within the page and its editor. Results go to your clipboard or download as a file on your device.
• PlayFrom holds no page content at all — only your per-site start-time rules, kept in the browser's extension storage. If you are signed into Chrome with sync enabled, those rules sync between your own devices through Chrome's own sync, never through us. The extension reads playback state only on sites you have granted it access to, and it makes no network requests of its own.
• FlowSherpa records step-by-step guides for web workflows: text descriptions of your actions, the pages' URLs and titles, and element fingerprints used to re-locate each target during a live walkthrough. It never captures screenshots. Recording stays entirely on your device, and the step list is uploaded only when you click Save to create a public share link — password and payment fields are redacted automatically at record time, and deleting a share erases it from the server immediately. While a live walkthrough runs, the extension reports anonymous, aggregate events (event type, step index, timestamp, random session id — no URLs, no page content). Our backend keeps IP addresses only as rate-limit counters, deleted within 48 hours and never linked to an identity.

Settings and history metadata (for example, your preferences or the list of recordings in an extension's local library) are kept in the browser's own extension storage on your machine. Clearing the extension's data in your browser removes them.

Capture tools necessarily request sensitive-sounding permissions — access to the tab being recorded, to the page being captured, or to your microphone when you enable narration. FlowSherpa asks, at the moment you start recording or replaying, for access to just the sites that flow needs. Each permission is used only for the action you initiate; nothing is collected or sent beyond what that action itself needs. • Browser extension stores. If you install our extensions from the Chrome Web Store or another store, that store processes the installation under its own privacy policy (for example, aggregate install statistics). We receive no personal data from these beyond what the store chooses to show developers in aggregate.
• No other third-party services. The extensions do not embed analytics SDKs, crash reporters or advertising libraries, and they do not call external APIs with your content. The only network calls any of them makes with user data are FlowSherpa's, to our own backend, when a share is published or replayed — as described in its section above.

Our extensions are general-purpose tools that do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included. The captures a user makes are stored only on that user's own device; the only data that ever leaves is a FlowSherpa step list the user deliberately published as a share.

If the way our site or extensions handle data ever changes, this page will be updated before the change ships, with the date below revised accordingly. Material changes will also be noted in the affected extension's documentation.
