Auto zoom that follows your actions
The recording tracks your cursor as you work. On export, the camera zooms in on what you click or dwell on, so viewers are never left searching a full-screen image.
Screen + webcam + microphone together
Record the screen, a webcam overlay and the microphone in one take. System audio and mic audio are mixed into a single track.
Mouse tracking with click effects
Cursor movements are captured at up to 60 Hz, with optional click highlights — useful for tutorials where the pointer must be visible.
MP4 export, no converter needed
Recording is encoded to MP4 (H.264 video + AAC audio) directly in the browser. The file you download is the final file.
Keyboard-first controls

Everything stays on your device

How to use Poindeo
From install to first result in four steps.
Install and open the recorder
Add Poindeo to Chrome, then press Ctrl+Shift+O (or click the toolbar icon) to open the recorder page.
Choose what to capture
Pick the screen, tab or window, and switch the webcam and microphone on or off before you start.
Record
Press Ctrl+Shift+S to start. Move and click as usual — the cursor is tracked the whole time. Pause anytime with Ctrl+Shift+P.
Preview and export
Stop the recording, preview the result with auto zoom applied, and export the MP4 to your device.

Limitations & known boundaries
What this extension does not do, and the cases where results may be imperfect. Stated plainly so you can decide before installing.
- Chrome only. Poindeo is built on Chrome's capture and encoding APIs; Firefox and Safari are not supported.
- Auto zoom follows mouse activity. If you navigate entirely by keyboard, there is nothing for the zoom to follow.
- Zoom is computed from cursor tracking data on export — it is not a live camera effect while you record.
- Some DRM-protected video (paid streaming services) records as a black area. This is enforced by the browser, not by Poindeo.
- Recordings live in local browser storage. Very long recordings consume disk space, and clearing site data removes them.
- Poindeo is a recorder, not an editor: there is no timeline, no cutting and no captions. Trim clips in a video editor afterwards.

Does Poindeo upload my recordings?
No. Recordings are encoded and stored locally in your browser. Nothing leaves your device unless you share the exported MP4 yourself.
How does auto zoom work?
While you record, Poindeo tracks cursor positions and clicks. On export it reframes the video so the view zooms toward what you interacted with.
Can I record system audio and my voice at the same time?
Yes. System audio (from the tab/screen capture) and the microphone are mixed into one audio track during recording.
What output format do I get?
MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio — playable almost anywhere without conversion.
Is it free?
Poindeo is free to install and use. No account is required.
Which browsers are supported?
